Conventional versus Classical Tracks
High School Literature and History:
Classical versus Conventional Track
WriteAtHome offers two tracks for the study of high school literature and history: classical and conventional. Either program offers a robust and engaging learning experience.
In literature, the classical track is a chronological study of the Great Books of Western Civilization, from the poetry and drama of Ancient Greece and Rome through classic works of the 20th century. Classical track history surveys the events, ideas, and cultures of the corresponding eras.
The conventional track includes many of the same great works of literature and covers the same history, but the courses are organized according to the conventions of typical high school English and history courses.
